Explore the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg with this 3D virtual tour.

Here, directly at the water’s edge of the Elbe, on the most westerly side of HafenCity, Hamburg is building the Elbphilharmonie – in every way a monumental house for music and the urban experience. Above the massive brick body of the old Kaispeicher A warehouse, the glass structure rises to a height of 110 metres. With its wave-like rooftop, it looks like a gigantic crystal which floats over the foundation. The Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron designed the building.

At the heart of the Elbphilharmonie sits the Grand Concert Hall with a seating capacity of 2,150. General and Artistic Director Christoph Lieben-Seutter will mould the unique artistic profile for the Elbphilharmonie and coordinate for the Grand Concert Hall as well as two smaller halls a harmonised balance between tradition and modernity. A city within a city: The Elbphilharmonie will integrate 45 private apartments and a 250-room hotel. The central platform, at a height of 37 metres, is an open space, to which the general public has access and 360º views of maritime Hamburg can be enjoyed. But even before its completion, this 3D virtual tour gives a glimpse of the future: taking the escalator up The Tube, looking through the big Panorama Window, through the Foyers and arriving in the magnificent Grand Concert Hall.
